East Lake Common Area, Dam and Spillway Closed for Construction

Due to upcoming construction, the area adjacent to the East Lake dam and spillway is closed until further notice. As illustrated in the map below, this applies to all of the greenbelt/picnic area East of Shoreline Drive, from the creek and West Lake spillway to the East Lake and dam, as well as any areas where construction materials and equipment may be stored.

As we shared in a prior post, the City of Warr Acres will be enlarging their sanitary sewer line in this space. Contractors will also make repairs to the dam itself and build a new concrete spillway just behind the homes East of Shoreline Drive.

If you have children, please ensure they stay out of these areas and away from all materials and equipment.   

We’d also like to remind everyone that The Pines’ lakes and greenbelts are private property and are for the use and enjoyment of members of The Pines only. We encourage our members to be aware and to report any problems—such as trespassing or destruction of property—to police. In related news, the HOA Board continues to negotiate with the City of Warr Acres on an agreement for the dam and spillway projects, and it appears we are very close to reaching a final contract both parties can agree to. 

The Warr Acres City Council is holding a special meeting on Tuesday, July 29 at 6pm to discuss and possibly vote on a final contract.
