This Spring, The Pines has again requested a group of student volunteers, through OU’s Big Event community service day, to help with cleanup and other projects on our greenbelts. This annual community project has saved the HOA a great deal of expense over the years in maintaining the plentiful greenbelt areas available for everyone’s enjoyment. We encourage all neighbors to join us for this community project, get to know each other and get more familiar with our vast and beautiful common areas, while making our neighborhood more beautiful.

We contracted with a new mowing company this year, and they’ve done a good deal of tree trimming, clearing and debris removal. As a result, for this year’s Cleanup Day, we will focus on trash pickup, filling some holes behind the West Lake dam and along the spillway, and a bit more brush and debris removal.

The city of Warr Acres will provide two dumpsters for the day, locations to be determined. All ages and abilities are welcome!

Here are some ways you can help:
  • Donate Snacks. The HOA will provide bottled water, and students are likely to bring boxed lunches. If you'd like to donate healthy or sweet snacks, it would be greatly appreciated and a wonderful way to show support while keeping everyone energized.
  • Tell your neighbors about this event and encourage them to participate.
  • Supervise a Team of Students. Oversee trash pickup along the shores of one of the lakes or direct the kids on any other project.
  • Provide tables for snacks, chairs, ice chests or ice.
  • Hand out snacks and drinks.
  •  Lend us your tools. The students will bring most of the tools and supplies needed, but we may be able to use wheelbarrows for moving soil and pool nets for fishing trash from the lakes.
  • Tell your neighbors about this event and encourage them to participate.
  • Just stop by and say hello!

RSVP in the comments (please provide a contact phone or email) or just show up.
Hope to see you there!
